Notice: 1 meter (m) = 1,000 millimeters (103 mm) und 0.001 meter (m) = 1 millimeter (mm)
1 millimeter (mm) = 1000 micrometers (103 µm) and 1 meter (m) = 1,000,000 micrometers (106 µm)
1 micrometer (µm) = 0.000001 meter (10-6 m) = 0.001 millimeter (10-3 mm) - 1 Ĺ (Angstrom) = 10-10 m
A micron µ is a metric unit of distance equal to one millionth of a meter. "Micron" is simply a shorter
name for the micrometer. In 1968 the CGPM = The General Conference on Weights and Measures
(Conférence Générale des Poids et Mesures, CGPM) decided to drop the micron as an approved unit
and recommend that micrometers be used instead. Microns, however, are still in common use.
